Happy Holi

Once again, it's festival time! The festival of colors, Holi, is celebrated as a symbol of the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. The colorful festival bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationships. In today's world, the need of brotherhood and acceptance of social diversity is more than ever. As the custom of betrayal and enviousness has reached an all-time high, the essence of the 'Holi' festival gives a significant message: the message of equality & togetherness!
During the Holi festival, customs & attitudes, which at other times may be considered offensive, are viewed as normal. It's common to squirt water (colored) on passers-by on this day. Also, dunking friends in mud or colored-water pool amid laughter & fun, and getting intoxicated are more or less acceptable. As a matter of fact, you can get away with almost anything by just saying, "please don't mind, it's Holi!"
I recall the color, joy and fun associated with the festival... Today, I miss all the excitement, food, fun and laughter associated with this festival of colors. And miss my family & friends a lot. But I take comfort in the fact that I may be able to make it probably next time!
I take this oppurtunity to extend my best wishes to all my friends and well-wishers. May the almighty gifts you all the colors of life, colors of joy, colors of happiness, colors of friendship and colors of love. May you achieve all the colors that you ever need to make your life truly colorful. If, & only if, my wishes could come in the shape of rainbows...I would give you all the brightest color to say: Happy Holi!
