Imagine there was no country
No borders to protectNo temptation to destroy 'others'
World as a single country
Wonder what to feel proud of!

Imagine there was no religion
No selfish feeling around
No reason to diffuse hate
Humanity as a single religion
Wonder what to die for!
Imagine there was no caste or sect
No superiority or inferiority feelings
No incentive for discrimination
Everyone with a desire to excel
Wonder what can disunite us!

Great thoughts! Humanity as the only religion is probably key to peaceful world. and a nice poem. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, few things should be better left as only imagination and nothing more than that
i liked the poem but it seems quite similar with "where the mind is withour fear" by Rabindra nath Tagore.
really,nice poem.thanks dipendra ji....
Thanks all of you for liking the poem.
Dear उजेली, you reminded me of a beautiful poem by the legendary poet Rabindra Nath Tagore. I have read and liked 'Where the mind is without fear' as have most of the people. For those who haven't come across the master piece, here is the poem:
------
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic wars;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action -
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
------
The poem, as one can see, is beautifully penned by Tagore and, the embedded message is relevant even today.
Dear Suryajee (I hope it's okay to address you by your real name!), welcome to this blog. I am glad that you liked the composition.

Dear Jhaji,
A great thought ! This is how the Human Beings should behave.. There should not be any hatredness and selfish motives amongst us.
Nature has made us most intelligent creature and that should be reflected in our actions.
If we indulge in petty struggles like animals do , there is no point calling ourselves supreme !
Wish this imagination of yours comes true someday. how wonderful would be this world and how wonderfully would be live.
by the way your thoughts reminds me of a great song by john lenon.
Dear Muflis,
Thanks for your visit and kind thoughts!
Sujitjee, I appreciate your feelings. They are truly incredible!
